The Cardinals hosted Henry Clay at Letcher Norton Gym last night; however, the Blue Devils left with the victory, 72-63. The Cardinals had 20 turnovers which led to 29 Henry Clay points. In comparison, the Blue Devils had 13 turnovers which led to only 9 GRC points.

The Blue Devils led after the first quarter, 20-14. Ryan Cooper led the Cardinals with 7 points. Henry Clay led at halftime, 31-26. Will Philpot scored 7 points in the second quarter. Chase Taylor scored 5 points.

Henry Clay led after the third quarter, 51-44. Jordan Graham, who was held scoreless in the first half due to early foul trouble, led the Cardinals with 9 points in the third quarter. The Cardinals cut the deficit to 4 points several times in the final quarter; however, GRC could not overtake the Blue Devils on Thursday night. The Cardinals lost, 72-63. Ryan Cooper led the Cardinals in the final stanza with 8 points.

The Varsity Cardinals (19-11, 4-2) travel to Paris High School on Wednesday, February 22 for the 40th District Tournament. The Cardinals take on rival, Montgomery County, at 7PM. Paris plays Bourbon County on Tuesday, February 21 in the other semifinal. The 40th District Championship is Friday, February 24 at 7PM.
