Multiple Teams · JV Cardinals Frostbit @ The Igloo, 45-29

The JV Cardinals traveled to Bracken County last night to take on the Polar Bears @ “The Igloo”; unfortunately, our boys’ extremities appeared to have trouble functioning as normal for a team with a record of 18-4. Could the reason have been mass frostbite in “The Igloo”? No, the Polar Bears simply limited us to our lowest offensive output of the season – 29 points!

Bracken County scored 9 unanswered points to begin the contest. KJ Rucker made a basket with 2:35 left in the first quarter to put the Cards on the board. The Polar Bears led after the quarter, 11-4. Zeke Dijiba scored the other bucket for the Cards in the quarter at the buzzer.

The Polar Bears thundered to a 12-point lead with 4 minutes remaining in the second quarter. Zeke Dijiba had an “and one” with 2:40 remaining in the first half to make the score, 17-8. Bracken County led at halftime, 21-10.

The Cards scored 5 unanswered points to begin the third quarter behind KJ Rucker’s trey with 4:05 left. However, the Polar Bears regrouped and went on a run of 11-7 to end the third quarter leading, 32-22. Nitavius Thomas led the Cardinals with 4 points in the third quarter.

The Polar Bears scored 5 unanswered points to begin the fourth quarter while taking a commanding lead at 37-22. KJ Rucker hit another trey at the 3:37 mark; however, the Cards would score only 4 points the remainder of the game. Bracken County won, 45-29.
