Multiple Teams · JV Basketball Wins 4th Straight: 56-38 Over Bath County


The JV Basketball team defeated Bath County last night at Letcher Norton Gym, 56-38. The Cardinals sluggishly came out of the gate trailing, 12-9, after the first quarter. Zeke Dijiba led the Cardinals with 4 points in the first quarter. The Cardinals stayed with the Wildcats during the 2nd quarter; however, GRC could not gain the lead. Bath County led at halftime, 21-20. Houston Goodman led the Cardinals in the second quarter with 5 points.

The Cardinals came out strong in the third quarter by limiting the Wildcats to only 7 points. The Cardinals scored 19 points in taking the third quarter lead, 39-28. Zeke Dijiba had 9 points in the quarter. Nitavius Thomas had 6 points. Isaiah Noland had 4 points. The Cardinals outscored the Wildcats, 17-10, in the final quarter to win, 56-38. Isaiah Noland led the Cardinals with 7 points in the final quarter.

The JV Cardinals (17-4, 4-0) travel to Paris on Thursday, February 9 for a 6PM tip-off with the Greyhounds.
