Winchester, KY – Jasmine Flowers 21 points propelled GRC Hoops (6-0) to a 79-31 victory over East Jessamine on Thursday. A 30-point second quarter and a 28-7 run allowed the Lady Cardinals to pull ahead early, eventually claiming a 47-18 lead by halftime.
Shooting a high percentage (5-7), Flowers had a great game from the field, also making 3 of the 5 threes attempted. She was also strong from the line, sinking 8 out of the 9 free throws she attempted.
Three other players also scored in the double digits. Kennedy Igo had 14 points (3 steals) and Hayley Harrison contributed 11 points. Harrison also had a great floor game with 5 rebounds, 4 assists, and 3 steals. Shamaya Behanan sank two three-pointers and scored 12 points total. Behanan was a big defensive contributor as well, racking up six rebounds and four steals.
Also contributing for GRC were Maleaha Bell (9 points, 5 rebounds, 5 steals), Aliyah Gray (6 points), Elizabeth Hardiman (3 points), Braydon Hawkins (2 points), and Kayleon Davis (1 point).
GRC finished the game with 34 rebounds (20 offensive/14 defensive) and 19 steals.
