Carlisle, KY – GRC Hoops (3-0) was victorious against Nicholas County 62-44 on Monday with the help of Kennedy Igo, who scored 16 points. At the end of the half, the Lady Cardinals were leading 38-20 due to a dominating 21-6 run.
Igo was the leader of the GRC offensive attack with 16 points, including eight during the first period. She also contributed five rebounds, two steals and one block. Jasmine Flowers hit double digits as well, scoring 14 points on 5-for-9 shooting. Flowers also picked up 3 assists and 2 steals.
Also contributing were Maleaha Bell (9 points, 8 rebounds, 3 steals), Hayley Harrison (7 points, 4 assists), Kylee Murray (7 points), Shamaya Behanan (5 points, 6 rebounds), and Elizabeth Hardiman (4 points, 10 rebounds, 2 blocks).
For the game, GRC was 25-48 (52.1%) from the field including 4-11 (36.4%) from behind the 3-point arc. The Lady Cardinals struggled at the free throw line connecting on only 8-16 (50.0%). GRC finished the game with 39 rebounds (13 offensive / 26 defensive), five blocks and 11 steals.
